Have you tried computing how much you need to have during your retirement days (from the moment you stop actively working for money until you die)? Retirement is NOT an option – whether you like it or not, you’ll retire eventually either intentional or unintentional retirement. So preparing for intentional and unintentional retirement is a must! DO NOT DELAY YOUR PREPARATION FOR RETIREMENT AS THE EARLIER YOU PREPARE THE EASIER YOUR RETIREMENT WILL BECOME.

To prepare for unintentional retirement, which is normally caused by accident or ailment, you need to invest on a life insurance and personal accident insurance today. Why? Because you never know if you’ll be sick or be in an accident and these financial products will replace your income in the event that you are still alive but can no longer work for money due to accident or ailment. How much? Any amount is better than nothing to start with. But the most conservative amount for me is your yearly expenses now multiplied to the number of years before your desired retirement date (i.e., P300,000.00 yearly expenses X 28 years = P8.4M coverage for life insurance and personal accident insurance). The younger you invest on this, the more affordable it is. Contact your insurance agent to learn how much you need to invest on a consistent basis to get your desired amount and how many years you have to do that (you may contact 09289843636 for all your insurance needs).

To prepare for intentional retirement, which is normally a choice by the person, you need to save and invest your savings to investment instruments such as stocks, bonds, real estate, mutual funds, etc. today that will provide you the total amount you need by the time you retire. Why? Because it’s your responsibility to provide your needs and wants by the time you retire NOT your kids, relatives, ex-employer, government or anyone else. How much? Again, any amount is better than nothing. But the most conservative for me is your yearly expenses multiplied to 1 plus the average inflation rate for the past 10 years raised to the number of years from now until your desired retirement age (this is to get the equivalent value of your yearly expenses today on the year you retire) then divide it by a conservative yearly yield of government bonds or bank time deposit where you’ll invest your retirement money to provide you monthly passive income and then multiply it with 100% (i.e., P300,000.00 yearly expenses X [1 + 8% average inflation rate for the past 10 years]^28 years before retirement / 10% * 100% = P25,881,319.16 retirement fund). The younger you save and invest, the easier you’ll reach your retirement fund requirement. Contact your financial planner to learn how much you need to save on a consistent basis and where to invest your savings to get your desired amount and how many years you have to do that (you may contact 09289843636 to help you in planning for your retirement).

In order to have something tomorrow, you have to prepare for it today. Have a good life!

This article I don’t really understand. Why are they banning the doctors to endorse products such as food supplements? Why is it improper? Is it really just because they “think” it is not clinically proven? Or is there a deeper reason for this? Like the sales of drugs a.k.a. syntethic medicines are getting lower. I don’t really know. But to some extent, business is business you know. I’m just curious about the amendments made by the Philippine Medical Association (PMA).

“It’s improper for doctors to endorse food supplements, soaps or any other personal and healthcare product, so we decided to amend our Code of Ethics to discourage this practice,” said Dr. Rey Melchor, president of PMA. Read more>>>

I mean, there are some food supplements who have undergone clinical studies and passed it with flying colors. Is that included in their amendment? Or just supplements that are not clinically proven? If yes, then that I really don’t understand their rationale as to why they are banning doctors to endorse such products. Besides at the on set, it’s already said that it is a “supplement”. Meaning, it just supplements what we currently take (food and medicine). And I believe curing a sickness is just a secondary purpose of supplements and preventing them from happening is the first. I think the author of one book is correct in saying that the business of doctors is in curing sickness NOT preventing it. Imagine, if there is no one else to cure, then there will be no use for doctors anymore. So I think that’s one of the “intrinsic” reasons as to why they are banning some doctors to endorse “preventive” supplements as it might stop the use of “curative” supplements. But don’t quote me. Of course, these are just assumptions on my part. This is just my analysis on their move. Makes me wonder, there we’re no doctors in the earlier times. Just like there were no drugs during those times, only “natural” food which are not contaminated by pollution or any other harmful contaminants unlike today that there are lots of contaminants thus food supplements was born.

I would have liked the idea that PMA influences the doctors to “research” more about the supplements that they wish to endorse because they are doctors and whatever they say about these products are taken as the hard fact. But banning them to endorse natural products, that I don’t know. The amendment could have been a better one (for me at least) if it was said that doctors who endorse supplemental products that they didn’t research will be suspended or worse their licenses be revoked. Doctors are health professionals and I don’t see anything wrong in endorsing natural food supplements especially if it is well researched by them who has the technical know-how on how to research such products. It could have been better if they’ll amend something like revoking the license of doctors who smoke. Why? For Juan’s sake, they are health professionals and smoking is direct contradiction to their profession as it diminishes the health of people thus eventually killing the smoker and worse the non-smokers as well.
